
BUILDER LOW RISE - SITE SUPERVISOR - RPL
A Builder Low Rise – Site Supervisor is authorised to supervise construction work for buildings up to two storeys in height. This role ensures the safe and compliant delivery of low-rise building projects under the direction of a licensed contractor. The licence is issued by the QBCC and is essential for those supervising residential and small-scale commercial construction within the low-rise classification.
Licensing:
A Builder Low Rise – Site Supervisor licence is required to supervise low-rise building work in Queensland.
Applicants must hold appropriate technical qualifications, such as a Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building).
A minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising low-rise construction projects is typically required.
This licence does not permit the holder to carry out building work as a contractor but only to supervise on behalf of a QBCC-licensed contractor.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the construction site and ensure all work meets plans, codes, and standards.
Manage and coordinate the work of tradespeople and subcontractors.
Maintain and enforce WHS policies and site safety protocols.
Monitor progress and quality control, ensuring the project stays on schedule and within budget.
Communicate with contractors, suppliers, clients, and certifiers throughout the project.
Maintain accurate records and site documentation.
Scope of Work:
Supervision is limited to:
Class 1 and Class 10 buildings (e.g., houses, garages, sheds).
Commercial buildings (Class 2–9) up to two storeys, with a floor area not exceeding 500m².
Suitable for residential dwellings, small-scale renovations, duplexes, and low-rise commercial buildings.
Does not include supervision of medium or high-rise structures.
